Wash everything with cold water, except when you want to bleach something white. Cold saves money and clears most stains. Hot costs more money and can set stains, such as blood.

Washing “dry clean only”, including wool suits, in a regular washing machine on the cold gentle cycle works just fine. How do you think the Scots washed their wool in the old days?

You can steam wrinkles from a jacket and trousers by hanging them in the bathroom when you shower. But you’ll still need an iron to get a crease in your pants.

You can also steam wrinkles out of a jacket with a cheap steamer available anywhere online.

Use distilled water in your iron and steamer.

The better you dress, the worse you can behave.

The better you dress, the more radical your ideas can be.

It’s better to be overdressed than underdressed. It’s easy to talk yourself down to fit in with a crowd. It’s harder to talk yourself up when you’re underdressed.

A man should know how to dress well, for any occasion or duty at hand.

Human beings are stupid and still “judge books by their covers.” Have a good cover.
